X16

2011 – 2012

A fully automated nucleic acid extraction platform for low to medium throughput laboratories, capable of 16 parallel isolations from blood.
Most of the current molecular genetic laboratories worldwide have a volume of <100 molecular tests daily and high initial cost of the fully automated liquid handling systems compels them to perform the NA extraction process manually. X16 is a low budget yet ample solution for nucleic acid extraction for  non-high throughput laboratories. One other benefit of the device is that it uses dedicated pre-filled and sealed reagent cartridges minimising the hands-on time for the process. Instrument is capable of 96 isolations per a work day, with six sequent operation cycles completed in as short as 30 minutes.

This is a privately funded project and partially supported by KOSGEB RnD and Innovation program.
